Nicole MoneySmith, wife, daughter, and puzzler, died Friday at the age of 25.

She died of a red vines overdose, while at home. Law & Order SVU was playing on Netflix when she was found.
Her last words were, "That's it; I'm dead." (http://www.planecrashinfo.com/lastwords.htm)

She was survived by husband, Collin Smith, 28; father and mother, Alan and Sandra Money; three brothers, Alan II, David, and Joseph; cat, Sneek; and dog, Mickie.

Nicole was born in Provo, Utah on March 13, 1984, but grew up in Phoenix, Arizona. She attended and graduated from Desert Vista High School and was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

She was attending Mesa Community College, planning to major in English and minor in Art History. She loved museums, Jigsaw puzzles, crossword puzzles, music, film, po-going and cats. She also loved traveling, and studied abroad in Ireland and the Czech Republic. She and her husband recently traveled to Mali, West Africa, and did assessments for a Non-Profit Organization in 7 villages in the Ouelessebougou region.

A favorite scripture and inspiration to her is from the New Testament:
"For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring."
Acts 17:28

Nicole's body will be donated to science, and there will be no headstone or grave, but there is a small plaque at the Arizona Historical Society Musem which reads, "Nicole E. MoneySmith, lover of clouds, french food, and city buses, died Friday, August, 21, 2009, but gives her heart to her best friend and husband, Collin Smith."

Collin made me dinner. What a man.

Back to life; back to reality.
I find myself in America, and completely unable to be normal in social situations. I have a hard time expressing myself and what I have in my brains to people. They say, "How was Africa." I say, "Awesome. Great. Wonderful. Beautiful. Hard. Nice to be home."
We're heading to the gym all this week. We hope to stay skinny. But I just keep eating good food. I have to go to the cycling class now.
Collin's beard is hot and his hair is long. I love him. He is my best friend!!!!!!!
Self-reliance!

On my last night in America for dinner I ate a giant salad, spaghetti, and a cheese tortilla.
I'm actually getting that "going on a trip" excitement feeling!!! Collin just said, "I'm kind of excited to get there, now!"
Seriously, we've been through a lot this week, and cried wolf to ourselves so many times that we won't believe it
till we set foot on Bamako soil.

We're going to practice singing our Nora Jones song. (Collin plays and I sing Come Away With Me.) ((We're super serious about our career.))

We don't have many assets to will to you all. Anne, will you get our affairs in order?
Record player and records to Anne
TV (with DVD player) goes to Aaron
Juli and Isaac, Collin wants you to have our bed.

The End.

Goodbye. Forever.

After the most stressful, disappointing and exhausting week of our lives, we got our documents on Friday. The pressure was off.
We spent the weekend at Collin's Aunt Katie's house, eating whatever food we wanted, ice cream twice a day, watching hours and hours of tv. We hadn't watched tv in months! HOURS OF MINDLESS TV!!
We're finishing up our laundry, then bus down to Provo where we will
-bank stuff
-Get something delicious to eat
-spy on the lady living in our home
-fear our debt but ignore it for now because we're going to Africa(yikes)

Tonight we're going to my cousin Jason's birthday party. We searched the house for an appropriate present.
An unopened Settlers of Zarahemla will do just fine.
"Is that stealing?"-me
"You can't steal from family."- Collin

We're going back to the program director, Jodie, and her husbands house tonight, then
one more day in the OUA office. I turned in my two articles for the newsletter, and I'll sit down
for a chat about them with lame girl.
Then Wednesday morning everything SHOULD go according to plan, and hopefully we will be on our way to Mali.
It's going to be hot and I can't wait.
I gotta go. Collin's about to die or something.

The WORLD RECORD for most consecutive jumps on a Pogo Stick is 177,737!!!!!!!!! It was set by Gary Stewart in 1990 at Huntington Beach, CA!!!!
It took him 20 hours and 20 minutes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The record for longest distance Pogoed was 23.11 MILES! Ashrita Furman, New York, 1997!

I think I got a shot, boys. Syke. But serious, this makes my 449 look like used-up floss in the sink.

clean the house
do the laundry
register for classes
work Tues, Wed, Fri
getcha ready for Easter

We started taking our very high-maintenance Typhoid pills this morning. Collin has no clue. You have to do it on an empty stomach, so I woke him up, we took it, and he's out cold again.
Malaria pills coming soon.

I'm such a complainer. Next post to be positive and uplifting, I swear!!

I saw The Haunting in Connecticut.
It was kind of freaky, man.

Today is a bummer.

Got 5 shots. Hep B is the most painful thing ever.
Plus Yellow Fever yesterday makes 6 and $800.
PLUS Typhoid pills and Malaria pills that will COUNTERACT my birth control pills
AND could possibly cause BIRTH DEFECTS.
great.

Had to walk home (10 blocks) with a billion pounds of groceries
and my shots arms hurt.

BUT a Nigerian man pulled over and offered to drive me home.
I told him he is kind.
He said, "God is kind to me."

The weather here is freaking crazy. After a freezing cold winter (and no car, so walking back and forth to work everyday), it has finally started to get nice. It was sunny and in the 50s-60s all week! And the other day was the first day of Spring, so we naturally started busting out the shorts and picnics.

BUT today was super chilly-windy-RAINY. AND it's supposed to accumulate 2 inches of snow tonight!
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And it is supposed to snow every day this week. I just might die.

Good thing we're going to Disneyland on Thursday.
